The discussion is now turning towards fertiliser strategies for pulses, particularly regarding micronutrients, following ongoing research into phosphorus (P), potassium (K) and sulphur (S) application. Growers are seeking up-to-date recommendations to optimise micronutrient use in established and emerging pulse varieties.

3 year NGN project to validate and adapt northern and southern Australian herbicide research for WA conditions, developing practical weed management packages for all three pulse species across multiple rainfall zones.

This program will have the opportunity to evaluate establishment reliability, crop resilience, biological N fixation, seasonal stress management and rotational benefits, producing practical management rules that enable growers and advisors to confidently integate pulses into cereal-moninant farming systems.
