The North West Island aid to navigation (AtoN) is located approximately 75nm northwest of Dampier, WA. The AtoN consists of an approximately 4m tall fibreglass hut with concrete helipad located nearby. The concrete helipad has suffered from reinforcement corrosion and has significant cracking and spalling. AMSA now proposes to remove the existing helipad and install a new helipad incorporating a walkway to the fibreglass hut and the solar array.
Australian Maritime Safety Authority engaged TOTAL AMS PTY LTD for AU$1,033,976 to remove and replace a concrete helipad at North West Island aid to navigation, approximately 75 nautical miles northwest of Dampier, WA, and install a new helipad with walkway to the fibreglass hut and solar array. The contract ran from January 2022 to July 2022 and was awarded via open tender with one amendment.
