Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) is progressing plans to deliver new Key Health Worker Accommodation (KWHA) at Griffith and Lake Cargelligo Hospitals as part of the NSW Government’s broader Key Health Worker Accommodation Program. This initiative is designed to support the recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals in regional, rural, and remote communities by providing high-quality, fit-for-purpose housing solutions. The works at Griffith will involve interface with the existing hospital redevelopment, including coordination of demolition of carparks, installation of stormwater infrastructure and significant landscaping. The works at the Griffith site are to design an accommodation development that has a mix of single bedroom duplex’s and double bedroom duplex’s, the total budget for this site is $15m The works at the Lake Cargelligo site are to design an accommodation development that has double bedroom duplex’s, the total budget for this site is $3m
