The TAO framework enables TfNSW to undertake a targeted level of assurance, known as engineering due diligence, to supplement the TAO’s assurance regime. Engineering due diligence ensures reasonable care is taken to allow justified confidence that processes and activities are being systematically followed by the TAO to achieve the designed outcome. Depending on design package level of complexity and risk, TfNSW will request an independent professional review (IPR) of selected design packages by an independent and experienced practitioner.
