Project scope
The project will assess the adaptive potential of current koala tree planting sites to future climate change using associations between plant functional traits, foliage quality and genomic variation across existing climate gradients. The key outcome is to inform the NSW Koala Strategy on the resilience of koala habitat restoration under future climates. This research will generate indicators of genomic diversity based on measured functional traits, helping to create approaches for ensuring climate resilient restoration practices.
