The Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration (the Department) is seeking to engage a suitably qualified Principal Contractor to deliver earthworks and construction services under the Abandoned Mines Program (AMP) in Yalgoo, Western Australia. The Contractor will be responsible for undertaking rehabilitation and associated construction activities for abandoned mine features where the scope of works includes: Backfilling of mine shafts, including the loading, haulage, and placement of suitable fill material Collapsing and stabilisation of overhanging ground and unsafe material Installation of geotextile materials where required Removal and lawful disposal of unsuitable or unwanted material from within mine shafts Batter slope stabilisation of abandoned open pits and voids Concrete formwork and associated construction works Geotechnical investigations and rehabilitation design options were previously completed under Contract DEMIRS24473 – Geotechnical Engineering Services for Abandoned Mine Features, Yalgoo Phase 1 . These investigations and methodologiey recomendatrions were finalised in 2025, where the designs were further refined following extensive stakeholder consultation. The Contractor will assume full responsibility as Principal Contractor for the management and control of the site. This includes the provision of all supervision, labour, plant, equipment, and materials necessary to safely and effectively deliver the works in accordance with the Scope of Works, Technical Specifications, and Issued-for-Construction Drawings.
