DBCA seeks a suitably experienced contractor to design and construct a new walk trail (Chuditch Link) of approximately 930 m (1,860 m return) to join the Chuditch walk trail loop along the hill side of Murray Valley Road to follow the river. This includes the delivery of the detailed design and walk trail construction in a 50 m trail corridor. A specified section of the trail is to be hand-built. The approximate location of the hand-built sections is marked on the Chuditch Link walk trail concept map (Attachment 1). The installation of steps will form part of the project to deter the use of mountain bikes and due to the steep topography and alignment of the existing trail. The intended trail class is Class 3/Moderate with a 600 mm finished trail tread and will include some switchbacks and steps where required. The trail is to be designed and constructed in accordance with the WA Hiking Trail Management Guidelines 2024 (Attachment 3) and as directed by the Superintendent.
