VP523655—WBHHS130454 - Expression of Interest (EOI) - Rural GP Services

Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (WBHHS) currently supports rural GP services through commissioned private general practices across the North Burnett and rural Bundaberg regions. These services are delivered through a mix of third-party management arrangements and WBHHS-employed Medical Practitioners operating under Private Practice agreements.

WBHHS is seeking responses from interested parties who wish to collaborate in co-designing and delivering sustainable, integrated and community-aligned rural primary care models for the future.

This EOI invites high-level concepts that strengthen rural GP access and build resilient service pathways in thin markets.

WBHHS is particularly interested in solutions that deliver:
a) patient-centred care
b) integrated service pathways
c) sustainable and resilient rural GP models
d) strong alignment with community needs and expectations.

WBHHS welcomes innovative concepts and enhanced service offerings. WBHHS is open to exploring new care models and commercial arrangements, including a range of subsidies and supports that may incentivise market participation and enable a genuine transition toward sustainable operating models over time.

This EOI aims to:
a) explore market interest in partnering to co-design sustainable rural GP service models
b) identify innovative, integrated, patient-centred and community-aligned approaches
c) understand workforce, training, operational and high-level commercial/support requirements, including subsidy and incentive needs
d) assess how WBHHS’s current investment could be better structured to support future sustainability
e) support transition toward future-ready operating models.
