VP476544—Bushfire Resilience Specialists

Bushfire Resilient Communities (BRC) unit within the Bushfire Resilience and Operational Support (BROS) branch is responsible for carriage of several Queensland Fire Department (QFD) functions. BRC is seeking to establish a SOA with a panel of specialist consultants with the objective of delivering critical projects including VHC as part of ongoing RFSQ bushfire hazard mapping program.

These include the mitigation of bushfire risks to communities through hazard map development, Land Use Planning (LUP), training and support programs.

In line with Government commitments, BRC is currently providing advice on several high-priority development proposals to support these functions and provide services in the following fields:

•Vegetation Hazard Spatial and Modelling Services - Services related to the delivery of specialist vegetation models, machine learning tools and spatial products to support interpretation of vegetation attributes.

•Bushfire Ecological Services - Services related to the undertaking of specialist site assessments, reporting and product development regarding fire ecology, vegetation assessment, fuel hazard characteristics.

•Bushfire Risk, Planning and Policy Services - Services relate to the delivery of specialist bushfire assessments and application of knowledge in the fields of bushfire risk assessment, plan making, statutory planning and policy development.
