The Defence Print and Distribution Service (DPDS) requires the supply of synthetic paper stock to support the production of Australian Defence Force (ADF) publications and other products intended for field deployment. Synthetic paper stock is an essential requirement for ADF field publications and other products due to its unique performance characteristics. Standard paper products cannot adequately replicate the required performance characteristics. The material provides superior durability through its waterproof, tear-resistant, and flexible properties, enabling publications/products to withstand harsh operational and environmental conditions encountered during Defence activities. In addition to its durability, the synthetic stock must be fully compatible with DPDS production printing equipment. Compatibility is critical to maintaining high-volume production efficiency, minimising printer jams, feed issues, large build ups of paper related dust in the equipment and static-related complications, while ensuring consistent print quality and operational readiness. DPDS requires approximately 70,000 sheets of synthetic paper stock per month to support its ongoing production requirements. DPDS is seeking to engage a suitably qualified supplier to provide synthetic paper stock under a supply arrangement that delivers reliable product availability, consistent quality, value for money and ongoing support to Defence printing operations.
