ATM_2026_7057—Review of Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) for Air Conditioners

The Department intends to review MEPS for air conditioners to identify how best to calculate MEPS, what MEPS are appropriate, whether determinations can be consolidated, and any other considerations to update air conditioner determinations and NZ Energy Efficient Regulations. This will include consultation with key stakeholders about options, cost benefit analyses of options for both Australia and New Zealand, and preparation of reports to support preparing a consultation regulation impact statement.
