The Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety (DFSDSCS) (the department) administers the Queensland Community Transport (CT) initiative as part of the Queensland Government’s ongoing commitment to enabling economic participation, supporting healthy communities, and reducing social isolation for Queenslanders.
Community Transport contributes to the department’s vision for Thriving Queensland communities, where people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities can participate, are included and resilient, and enjoy high levels of social and economic wellbeing.
Community Transport is a key enabler of economic and community participation. It provides a critical service across Queensland, enabling vulnerable and isolated Queenslanders to connect to and access vital services, particularly where other public or private transport infrastructure is in low supply.
The purpose of this procurement activity is to purchase community transport services in 5 locations listed in Section 1 Part 5 below. This funding is targeting locations that have been assessed as requiring a service as they are areas where there is no current provision.
Service delivery is expected to commence from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2029.
